Taiwo Awoniyi reportedly said goodbye to his Union Berlin counterparts before moving to Nottingham Forest for £ 17.5million, according to German reports.
The Nigerian striker is set to move to a Premier League club, which has been promoted to the Champions League in the play-offs.e trying to rob New Jersey.
The 24-year-old is expected to test the East Midlands team this week, with his former club Liverpool earning £ 1.75m over a 10% sales clause discussed by Michael Edwards.
Taiwo Awoniyi said he said goodbye and left the gym with a suitcase at 10.05am on Wednesday, before moving on to his new team.
After signing for Liverpool in the summer of 2015, he has failed to feature for just one of his six seasons at the club, with seven loan spells across Europe, due to work permit problems.
The former Reds striker has spent the 2020-21 season on loan at Die Eisernen, before signing a permanent deal worth £ 6.5m last summer. He has scored 20 goals in 43 games in all competitions in the final campaign.
The proposed £ 17.5m deal will give Liverpool £ 1.75m as they negotiate a 10 per cent sale agreement when they sell him to Union Berlin.
