A Muslim cleric, Sheikh Ahmad Gumi, said that as part of efforts to curb the ongoing problem of terrorism and terrorism in the country, the Federal government should establish an Emergency Department.
According to him, the Department will assist in resolving the grievances of criminals and herdsmen as it enables the government to curb the activities of terrorists in the Niger Delta.
Speaking at a conference on Wednesday, Gumi told reporters at the conference
“The government should pay close attention to these people because they always say they have been abused. My expectations for the government are no less than what they did, when the youth of the Niger Delta are destroying the economy.
These people also disrupt Nigerian agriculture which is the backbone of the country’s economy. I think the government needs to step up; they need attention; The only thing they need is a Department of Tourism to look after their affairs, ”he said.
