auntyamebo.comNew York rapper Lil Tjay was shot dead midnight on Wednesday, June 22, when the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office called in an attempt to rob the doctor and two of his friends.
The shooting took place at the 14-storey Promenade shopping mall in Edgewater, according to a statement issued by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office. 12:08 a.m. ET, Edgewater Police Department responded to a 911 call at the address and found the 22-year-old victim with multiple gunshot wounds.
Elsewhere, at Exxon station, police found another victim of his age with a single gunshot wound. Both were taken to hospital for treatment.
Prosecutors have announced the arrest of Mohamed Konate, 27, of New York City, on charges of attempted murder, armed robbery, and weapons, accusing the man of shooting the rapper, whose real name is Tione Merritt, and Jeffrey Valdez, 24, and Antoine Boyd, 22,. both of the Bronx, who were with him.

Tjay was beaten several times in the maelstrom, and he also injured Boyd, prosecutors said on Wednesday night.
