One Confirmed Dead As Three-storey Building Under Construction Collapses In Lagos

One person has been confirmed dead after the collapse of a three-storey building under construction on Lagos Island today May 21.

 

According to the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency LASEMA, the 4th building on Alayaki Lane, Lagos Island was taken over by the LASBCA Regional Office and processed with all Legal Notices, Closed at Regional and Central Enforcement Levels.

Further investigation found that the developer continued to work secretly, especially at night and on weekends.

An unidentified number of people are still trapped inside the building. Two people were rescued alive and one was found dead.
