Gunmen attack Abuja estate, reportedly abduct residents

Gunmen reportedly attacked the Gwarinpa Estate in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, today June 6th.

 

The Daily Trust reports that gunmen worked in the area between 1am and 4am, capturing a growing number of residents.

Although the details were unclear, a resident, who identified himself as Mohammed, told the letter that the gunmen had entered the Genuine Estate behind Efab Queens on 6th Avenue, Gwarinpa.

 

Mohammed added that the robbers were armed with bows, arrows and machetes and were numerous.

When contacted, FCT police spokeswoman DSP Josephine Adeh said the incident was a robbery and not a kidnapping. He said police had already been called to the scene to find out how the incident happened.
