Gas explosion injures 20, burns shops in Kano

Less than 20 people were injured following a gas explosion at the Liquefied Petroleum Gas filling station in Sheka quarters, Kumbotso Local Government Area of ​​Kano State.

The incident happened around 8pm on Thursday night, after a cylinder exploded which resulted in the destruction of some shops.

It is learned that the fire started when a fishmonger was frying fish near a gas filling store.

When contacted, Kano District Fire Services Community Liaison Officer, Samu Yusuf, confirmed the incident.

He said 20 victims were rescued alive and taken to hospital for treatment.
