Ekiti election: Segun Oni’s group confident of victory

The Segun Oni Campaign Organization denied a letter circulating on social media, arguing that Segun Oni, the candidate candidate in the Social Democratic Party’s Ekiti State governorship poll, had withdrawn from the race.

A letter seen by The PUNCH of June 17, 2022, allegedly signed by Olusegun Adebayo Oni, announced that the SDP candidate had withdrawn from the governorship poll.

But Moses Jolayemi, spokesman for the campaign organization, rejected the letter when speaking to reporters on the phone Saturday morning, saying “The Teni will win the governorship poll”.

He described the letter as “the final phase of the madness” and urged voters to go out and vote en mass for the Oni.

Jolayemi said, “I refute the statement as insanity. This is the final stage of their madness. I urge the people of  Ekiti State  to come out en mass and vote for Segun Oni.

“If God wills, the Oni will win the election today. Our people should not see this statement as the work of the insane.”
