Egypt fired coach Ehab Galal two months later

Ehab Galal was sacked as Egypt national team coach two months after he was hired and after just three games in charge of the national team.

Galal, 54, replaced Carlos Queiroz in April after the Pharaohs failed to qualify for the 2022 World Cup.

Galal started with a 1-0 win over Guinea in the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers before his side lost 2-0 to Ethiopia. His last match was a 4-1 defeat to South Korea in a friendly on Tuesday.

The Egypt Football Association has said it will now look for an outside coach to lead the team.

Egypt Football Association board member Hazem Emam said;

“We are in talks with many foreign coaches. I would like to thank coach Ehab Galal, a respectable man, who has worked under difficult conditions.

“I want to apologize to her but sometimes the pressure is so great we decided it was best for everyone to change.
