The President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (back), on Tuesday, was on his way to Madrid, Spain where he officially visited Spanish President Pedro Sanchez.
Presidential spokeswoman Femi Adesina made the announcement in a statement entitled, ‘President Buhari Begins State Visit to Spain’.
The President’s visit to Spain took place during the presidential election of the ruling All Progressives Congress in Abuja. Buhari met with party leaders before his departure.
Buhari was accompanied by Foreign Minister Geoffrey Onyeama; The organisation’s Attorney General and the Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami (SAN); Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Otunba Adeniyi Adebayo.
Others on the President’s train include the Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed; Interior Minister Rauf Aregbesola; Minister of Youth and Sport Development, Sunday Dare; and the Minister of Public Health, Olorunnimbe Mamora.
In talks with the two leaders, Adesina said, “The President of Nigeria will discuss issues of mutual understanding between the two countries, which will lead to the signing of treaties and the Memorandum of Understanding on a number of issues aimed at improving bilateral relations.”
