The incident happened on Monday around 11.30am on Hadejia-Kano Road in Hadejia Local Government Area of Jigawa State, after they escorted the bride to her home.
Jigawa State Police spokesperson DSP Lawan Shiisu Adam confirmed the incident.
He explained that “the accident involved a Lexus car, black in color, with Reg. no. AAA 153 EA, operated by a 30-year-old man, Habib Habib of Yalleman Quarters Kaugama Kaugama, while carrying eight (8) passengers after transporting a bride from Hadejia to Yalleman city. ”
According to him, “When they reached Gidan Sugar, on their way back to Hades, at the speed limit, the rear and front wheels were removed; The driver lost control of his vehicle and crashed into a forest.
“Upon receiving the report, a police team arrived at the scene, the victims were taken to the General Hospital Hadejia for treatment.”
He said six people had been confirmed dead by a doctor, and three other passengers were receiving medical treatment.
Shiisu said the bodies were released to relatives of the deceased for burial.
The Commissioner of Police, Jigawa District Police Commander, CP Aliyu Sale Tafida consoled the Jigawa District Government and the families of the victims.

He warned road users to avoid overloading, over speeding, hard drugs, alcohol and night journey.
