Three Remanded For Stealing Transformer Cables In Osun Monarch’s Palace

The Osun Magistrate’s Court, sitting in Ilesa, on Monday convicted three suspects of robbery in a police cell by stealing N700,000 transformer cables from Owa Obokun in Ijeshaland, Oba Adekunle Aromolaran’s palace.

The accused, Owolabi Abimbola, 33, Sulaiman Mutiu, 25, Samson Oluwafemi, 25, and other suspects are facing four charges in connection with the case.

According to the Police Prosecutor, Inspector Adigun Kehinde, the stolen transformer wires were the IBEDC of the Ilesa branch.

He told the court that the defendants on May 11, 2022, conspired, stole and used a transformer cable at Owa Obokun Palace.

Adigun said the charges against the defendants were contrary to section 516, 400, 451 (6), 383 (2) of the Criminal Code Cap 34 Vol ll Law of Osun State 2002, in which the defendants pleaded not guilty. brought against them.

In his ruling, the presiding Magistrate, A.O Awodele, continued to hear the case until May 18, and ordered that the accused be kept in police custody.
