Gunmen set ablaze court, local govt secretariat in Anambra state

The gunmen allegedly set fire to the Idemili North Local Government Secretary’s office in Ogidi and the Magistrate’s Court.

Sources say the arsonists entered the courtyard Sunday night to commit the act.

They allegedly burned all the files, property inside the secretary, including the secretary’s building.

Videos and photos of the incident that have spread online have also shown that all buildings have been reduced to rubble.

Cars parked inside the local government secretary’s office also burned to the ground.

Confirming the incident, state police spokesman DSP Tochukwu Ikenga said the incident was committed by unknown motorists.
